WELCOME TO VFW POST 7731

The Little Finger Post
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

VFW Little Finger Post 7731 in the heart of Leelanau County was first formed in 1946 by several Leelanau Veterans of World War II.  They started with the building in it's current location, first with the basement and then 7 years later the main floor.  The entire building was built through the efforts and volunteer time of the members and others from the community.

Now that summer is in full swing, enjoy these warm days safely. Remember to drink plenty of water and wear sunscreen when you are going to be outdoors for any extended period of time. Let us remember that summer brings tourists as well, so take some extra time when travelling and have patients with them. Many of our tourists are not familiar with the area.

We hope everyone had a safe and fun Fourth of July, and you were able to celebrate with friends and family.

Whatever your summer plans are, stay safe, have fun, and enjoy everything summer and our beautiful area has to offer.
